Eagle Rock Lodge #19
Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Idaho
Welcome!
In all ages Freemasonry has insisted that men should come to it's doors
unsolicited and entirely of their own free will and accord. Moreover, those joining in the
hope of selfish, personal gain will be utterly disappointed.
Freemasonry is not contrary to the principles which distinguish a man
of upright character and has nothing inconsistent with honorable civil, moral or
religious duties.
Freemasonry requires it's members to be loyal to their country and
obedient to the laws of the country in which they reside.
Freemasonry has for its foundation the great basic principles
of the Fatherhood of Good and the Brotherhood of Man. No atheist can be
made a mason.
Freemasonry does not knowingly admit to membership those who are unable
to provide for themselves and their dependents. It is not in any sense
an insurance society nor does it pay benefits in case of sickness or death.
In a correct and broad sense it is a charitable organization, but it only
extends such charity as it feels willing and able to grant, not as a
right of the recipient. The yearly dues are entirely inadequate to
permit other than temporary assistance to a needy member or his family.
An obligation of secrecy in Masonic matters is required of every member
and an old custom requires that, through oral instruction,
certain parts of the work be memorized after each degree, and before a
candidate can be advanced.
